SHAW, JR., EARL DARINGTON resident of Dallas, TX for 62 years was born October 29, 1925 in Ennis, TX, schooled in Ennis and Waxahachie, TX and graduated TCU, Ft. Worth, TX in 1949 with a degree in Bachelor Science in Commerce. He passed away August 2, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Diabetes, Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Dorothy Shaw of Dallas, TX; son, Michael Shaw and wife, Kristine of Sachse, TX; 2 grandchildren, Derek Shaw of Sachse, TX and Malcolm Shaw and wife, Belinda of Beaumont, TX. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy in 2008; father, Earl D. Shaw and mother, Eunice Shaw Hooker. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the battle of Iwo Jima. He would never speak of that terrible battle. He was with Container Corporation of America, Container Division, Ft. Worth, TX for over 35 years as manager of special accounts and was a Master Mason for 50 years. He was a member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church and enjoyed serving with the Bread Ministry. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Dallas Cowboy fan and collector of Southwestern Indian memorabilia. Earl and Dorothy spent many years at their lake home on Texoma and later traveling throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and many more interesting countries. His one great highlight was walking on the Great Wall of China. Earl's family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus at Lake Highlands and Hospice Plus for the wonderful care the past 15 months.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Restland Memorial Park. A reception to follow at Restland Funeral Home.
