WILSON, FRANCES ETTA passed away on August 21, 2014, 4:30 am at Prestonwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Plano, TX. Frances went peacefully in her sleep. Frances was born January 29, 1908 and lived 106 years. Her life's purpose was to live for Jesus, and many people can verify their lives were touched by hers in wonderful ways. Frances was born in Chandler, TX at the home of her parents. Shortly afterward she moved to a farm in Sachse. Her father, George Eastes, was a farmer and part-time minister. Her mother, Estelle Eastes, raised 9 children, and Frances is the last one of her brothers and sisters to pass away. Frances graduated from McKinney High School in 1926. She attended one year of college at Baylor in Waco, TX. She worked in Dallas, TX for Southwestern Bell Telphone Co. She met Vernon Wilson, a minister, and they were married November 22, 1939. Vernon preceded her in death on October 18, 1965. They had a ministry of 26 years, pastoring churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida. They had 3 children. Frances worked as a paralegal secretary for several years and ended her work experience at age 65 as an executive secretary for Texas Western Financial Corporation. She continued to work part-time for her sons, Tom and Ed, as a church secretary and for her daughter, as a bookkeeper and finally, for her daughter, Mary, caring for her children, Beth and Sam, on a part-time basis, from age 72-84. Full of energy and self-determination, she continued to donate her time and loving care to her children, grandchildren, and her church family. Frances lived independently until age 104, and lived with her daughter and son-in-law the last 2 years of her life. At age 100, she published an autobiography "My First 100 Years:Counting My Blessings." She wrote the book using her own computer. She used email and even had a facebook page. When asked what she thought kept her alive so long, she would say, "I get up every day and ask God what He wants me to do that day, and, I have been granted undeserved favor and blessings."
