GREEN, JESSIE MILDRED TERRY ("MAMMA"), age 95, born July 7, 1919 in Alba, TX to Berlie Fields Terry and Benjamin Franklin Terry, passed away at home in Carrollton, TX surrounded by her 3 children: daughters, Doris Jean Green, Naomi Christine Taylor (Tommy); son, Terry William Green and granddaughter, Kelly Denise Taylor. Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer (Rusty) William Green, his passing in 1985; her parents; sisters, Mae Nobles, Jewell Hammers, Fairrie Boyd, Bonnie Hazelwood; 3 brothers, Harless Terry, Uliss Terry and Ben Terry; daughter-in-law, Dena Green and step-grandson, Todd Pierce. Mom and Daddy were married October 30, 1937 in Dallas, TX. They met on a blind date and married 2 weeks later and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 children; 4 grandchildren, Derek Green (Kristen), Matthew Green (Callie), Jarrod Taylor (Lynda) and Kelly Taylor; 9 great grandchildren, Cannon, Makenzie, Keeton, Kolton, Harlie Green, Jordan and Taylor Pena, Evan and Emersyn Taylor; also a granddaughter, Tancy Turner (Rick) and two grandchildren, Dustin and Taylor Holt by marriage. Mom enjoyed cooking. Her specialties being fried chicken, cornbread dressing, pot roast and pecan pie and really everything else. In Mom's later years, she suffered with spinal stenosis which limited her mobility. To keep her mind sharp, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles in ink and crocheting Afghans and scarves which she happily loved to share with family and friends. Her hands were never still. Mom loved reading and collected books by her favorite authors. Mom enjoyed gardening before her back problems prevented her from doing it any more. Her favorite flower was the Iris and her backyard is full of all colors in the spring and the front yard flower beds have red Turks caps. Mom's family always came first in her life and she dearly loved them all.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, August 11, 2014 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
